LILLYHALL BUSINESS PARK, WORKINGTON

Stephenson Halliday, working with architects Architects Plus of Carlisle, prepared a Feasibility Study for the development of office accommodation at Lillyhall. The exposed site with views over the West Cumbrian coast, and the need for a distinctive and high quality development resulted in a layout which provided external spaces sheltered by the form of the building.

High quality, local materials were envisaged for an entrance courtyard; dark red sandstone and slate reflecting the industrial development based on coal and iron, with a water feature to reflect the important maritime connections of Workington and the surrounding region.
