KENDAL DISTRIBUTION CENTRE FOR LAKELAND LIMITED

Stephenson Halliday are working with architects Hanson Marston Mellor and engineers R G Parkins on the extension to the Kendal Distribution Centre for Lakeland Limited. The development of the new warehouse is situated within the floodplain of the River Kent and rainwater runoff attenuation and provision of additional floodplain volume are provided by the proposals.

In addition, the topography surrounding the extension has been designed to absorb surplus fill generated by the building construction. The proposals will provide a balancing pond, sheltered seating spaces, meadow areas and birch groves with outstanding views to the southern Lakeland fells framed by sheltering landforms.
