Aire and Calder Wind Farm
Stephenson Halliday has recently assisted E-ON UK with landscape and visual assessment (LVIA) for the proposed Aire and Calder Wind Farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The project situated south of the M62 motorway corridor and east of Pollington village comprises 15 turbines with a maximum height of 125 metres and potential installed capacity of 45MW. The proposed site which lies in close proximity to the Aire and Calder Navigation would be the first wind farm development in the UK to utilise the canal system for transportation of turbines reducing traffic on the local road network during construction.
The scope of work included advice on layout design, comprehensive landscape and visual assessment with supporting visualisations.
