The Lewis Wind Farm Proposal and Grid Connection

Stephenson Halliday has extensive experience in the landscape and visual assessment of grid connection proposals related to wind farm development. A recent example is the LVIA undertaken as part of the Lewis Wind Farm Grid Connection Environmental Statement. This S.37 planning submission follows Lewis Wind Power Limited's Section 36 proposal for the largest wind farm proposal in Europe on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles. The scope of work included route selection for the proposed 132kV, 60km in length, detailed landscape and visual assessment and the preparation of supporting visualisations.

We have also undertaken additional assessment and visualisation work for the revised wind farm layout which includes 181 turbines 140m high and 60km of grid connection.
