FAIRBURN WIND FARM

Scottish and Southern Energy have gained consent for a Wind Farm near Inverness, Scotland. The 35MW wind farm will consist of 20 turbines up to 100m to blade tip on moorland between Strathconon and the Orrin Reservoir, 5km west of Marybank.

We produced the Landscape and Visual Assessment for this project including advice and mitigation proposals to minimise the effect on the local area and a comprehensive Cumulative Assessment. We produced in house the full range of drawings, ZTV’s and wireframe/photomontage visualisations for both the E.S. document and for public exhibition. The application was submitted in May 2005 and approved in January 2008 and we were involved with the detailed design, pre and post application discussions with Statutory Consultees and the Planning Authority.
