Stephenson Halliday was
commissioned by Border Homes Ltd. to prepare landscape proposals
for a development
of city centre apartments adjacent to the River Caldew. The six
storey building is surrounded by communal gardens, with an elevated
flood protection bank to the river frontage which provides a
lookout structure to exploit views over the river corridor. The
plan provides a strong structure when viewed from above, with
private garden spaces to the rear and side of the building, and
the street frontage of formal lawns and tree planting enclosed
by railings.
