CENTRAL GARDENS AND FOUNTAIN, INGLETON
Stephenson Halliday was commissioned by Ingleton Parish Council to design and coordinate the restoration of the central gardens and fountain, which had over time become neglected and unused. In consultation with the local community a sympathetic yet functional design was developed which would link the gardens and fountain with the main street making it a focal point of the village. Following the preparation of detailed contract documentation the works were undertaken by a local building and landscape company with local craftsmen being commissioned to provide oak benches, iron gates and railings. Stone required for the project was sourced from local quarries. The project was funded by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (which included European money), Ingleton Parish Council, Ingleton Rural Community Association and Ingleton 2000.
