Bowscar Quarry, near Penrith has secured an efficient long term operational strategy for the next 26 years in the approval of the lateral extension. The application comprised the erection of a new building, weighbridge and the regularisation of minerals processing operations at the quarry which is operated by Cumbria Quarrying Services Ltd.
A separate Section 73 application was submitted and also approved for the variation of condition 2 of permission 3/09/9019 to provide a revised working and progressive restoration scheme for the site.
Also prepared by Stephenson Halliday, the revised working scheme permanently retaining buildings and plant / machinery for the processing of imported blockstone post restoration of Bowscar Quarry’s extraction areas. This revision to the working scheme and final restoration ensures post operational landscape, nature conservation and landowner benefits.
