The staff at Stephenson Halliday have been attending the hearings into the Cumbria Minerals and Waste Local Plan this week and last. Last week the sessions focussed on minerals strategy, development management policy and site allocations. Stephenson Halliday have supported Burlington Aggregates in the site allocations process for a sand and gravel quarry at Roosecote. Following discussions at the examination, the site was allocated in the Cumbria Minerals and Waste Local Plan. The two sessions on waste strategy and development management policy this week have been completed rapidly. We have been contributing to the work of the inspector and the County Council in shaping the future of minerals and waste development in the County.
