Planning and detailed landscape design to secure retrospective planning consent for changes to
luxury holiday log cabins.
Artlegarth Country Lodges provide high quality luxury holiday log cabins in an unspoilt area of the Eden valley close to the village of Ravenstonedale. The cabins are subject to very restrictive legal agreements preventing external additions to the cabins even if those additions do not amount to ‘development’.
The legal restrictions applied to the hot tubs, and TV aerials and antennae which the operators had already installed. Stephenson Halliday prepared applications to regularise the position which, following discussions with Eden District Council led to a retrospective application for all external additions to the log cabins and additional storage building.
This application was successful and permission was granted for all the components of the development.
We continued to support the discharge of conditions notably design of landscape planting to screen the hot tubs particularly from neighbouring properties that was approved by Eden District Council.
