Stephenson Halliday was recently commissioned to provide planning and community consultation services for a 5MW solar farm at a site adjacent to the M6 corridor in north Lancashire.
Our role involved the co-ordination of the planning submission, including the review of specialist environmental reports, the production of an environmental report and provision of a planning statement.
We took the lead on a programme of community consultation for the project which involved organisation and attendance of a Public Consultation Event and engagement with the local community and parish councils.
Given recent announcements by the Government to slash tariffs available to solar developers, we were required to present a robust planning case for the proposal to a challenging deadline.
The proposal was recommended for approval and unanimously granted planning permission by Lancaster City Council’s Planning Committee.
