Gas Peaking Plant Feasibility Assessments

Client

Clearstone Energy

Stephenson Halliday were commissioned by Clearstone Energy to undertake a number of initial feasibility assessments to understand the constraints and opportunities presented by potential development sites in Scotland for the erection of gas peaking plants.

These assessments looked at the current site context in terms of access, heritage, ecology, landscape and visual, agricultural land classification, flooding, planning policy, and also provided the planning history for each site including nearby applications in order to understand the likely considerations that the local planning authority would draw upon in the determination of any forthcoming proposal.

Stephenson Halliday provided clear and honest advice on the potential for each proposal with some sites being dismissed due to the number of constraints, whilst others progressed to the planning strategy stage where guidance was given on how to advance projects in a proactive manner.
