Securing planning approval in designated landscapes for a farm diversification providing glamping pods.
Stephenson Halliday’s combination of planning and landscape skills were able to address the particular challenges associated with seeking permissions in designated landscapes. Whilst this particular example was for glamping pods it illustrates that success can be achieved with well constructed planning policy based arguments and by working with relevant determining bodies.
We worked with our client to develop a scheme which fitted with their ongoing dairy farming operations. The five pods are to be situated close to existing mature trees on a rocky outcrop, making the most of magnificent scenery in the beautiful Lyth Valley, Cumbria.
Working positively with the Lake District National Park Authority we were able to deliver this scheme within a few months making a rural business more resilient and diversified.
