Identifying opportunity for and securing consent for residential conversion, Yorkshire Dales
Stephenson Halliday identified a ‘permitted development’ option for a client wishing to maximise the asset value of a disused outbuilding within their ownership.
The application was tailored to satisfy legislative requirements and minimise cost implications for the client, whose primary objective was to sell the building for self conversion / development.
As well as identifying an unproblematic route to gaining the necessary planning consent, Stephenson Halliday led the design process to overcome the client’s concerns regarding future impacts upon their existing property as a consequence of the conversion.
The proposed conversion works, in an area close to two National Parks, were acceptable to the local planning authority.
